Fair trade and organic products from the south are topics of growing
significance on a European-wide basis. Together with six partner
organisations from Mali, Burkina Faso and Benin, Helvetas’ Organic
and Fairtrade Competence Center participates in the „European
Fairtrade Fair“, which takes place from 1 to 3 February 2008 in Lyon,
where 150 enterprises and organisations will be present, presenting
their products and projects with stands and debating on current
trends. It offers a professional discussion platform for players from
southern and European countries. Furthermore, the congress will
open its doors to the public on 2 of February with panel discussions,
expositions, demonstrations and multimedia presentations. Helvetas
and its partners will be present prominently with a large stand and
give some thematic input through the active participation in panel
discussions. |
